Botafogo
Botafogo dominated Vasco 3–0 after tactical adjustments by Davide Ancelotti, emphasizing finishing and offensive transitions. The trio Santi, Savarino, and Correa increased attacking volume and improved ball control.
Joaquín Correa stood out in Botafogo’s win over Vasco, playing a key role in decisive plays and showing great progress under Ancelotti. The coach praised him as “the team’s most important player” in recent matches.
Former Botafogo players Luiz Henrique and John were nominated for The Best FIFA award for their 2024 performances. It’s the second consecutive year with Botafogo representatives after Thiago Almada’s nomination in 2024.
Bragantino
Red Bull Bragantino resumed training after a 2–1 victory over Corinthians but will miss starters Eduardo Sasha (forward, 33) and Juninho Capixaba (left-back, 27), both suspended after receiving their third yellow card. Center-back Pedro Henrique (thigh injury) remains doubtful. The team sits 12th with 39 points in Série A.

He leads Group G with 16 points and tops both goals (16) and assists (14) for the Dutch team, though he faces a R$ 23 million payment dispute with Corinthians.
José Martínez (28, midfielder) received his third red card of 2025, tying Plata and Escobar as the most sent-off players in Série A. In 44 matches, he has 20 bookings (17 yellow, 3 red), averaging one every two games, and will miss the match against Ceará due to suspension.
Charles (27, midfielder) was sent off for aggression toward Jhon Jhon in the 2–1 loss to Red Bull Bragantino after a referee protocol error by Edina Alves. He will serve only a one-match suspension. Corinthians sit 10th with 42 points and will be without Charles, Martínez, and Carrillo against Ceará.
Cruzeiro
Cássio emphasized that Cruzeiro remains focused on securing a Libertadores spot but could fight for the title if Flamengo and Palmeiras drop points.
Club owner Pedro Lourenço said he wants to keep Gabigol long-term, though his stay will depend on the player’s decision after the season.
Leonardo Jardim completed 50 matches as Cruzeiro’s coach, now 18 away from tying Paulo Pezzolano as the foreign manager with the most games in club history.
Flamengo

Fluminense
Fluminense defeated Mirassol 1–0 at home in a tight match, securing key points in the Libertadores race. Despite Lucho Acosta’s good performance, poor finishing made the game tougher than expected.
Coach Zubeldía is still searching for Fluminense’s ideal attacking trio. The team finally scored after more than a month, with Serna netting in the win over Mirassol. Everaldo started, while Cano and John Kennedy remain underperforming.
Zubeldía defended Everaldo after fans booed him, highlighting his tactical importance and the team’s improved chance creation despite lacking finishing precision.

Grêmio
Grêmio faces a steep decline in Série A, with consecutive losses and underperformance compared to rivals.
Coach Mano Menezes criticized comments from Leão and Oswaldo de Oliveira against foreign coaches, calling them disrespectful and damaging to the reputation of Brazilian managers.
Grêmio’s new board opposes transforming the club into a SAF (corporate model), preferring to keep its member-owned structure with professional management despite financial struggles.
Internacional
Internacional is going through a critical phase, performing poorly away from home and ranking among the worst in the league.
Thiago Maia denied any complacency within the team, affirming that the squad holds itself accountable and is working hard to avoid relegation.
Amid a four-match goal drought and mounting crisis, Internacional pins its hopes on Borré’s return to end the dry spell and revive their league campaign.
Juventude
Juventude will have Mandaca back and Ewerthon available to face Vasco, while Sforza is ruled out and Nenê might be rested. Coach Carpini aims to keep momentum after the away win over Sport.
Team top scorer Emerson Batalla has been left out for a month under Thiago Carpini, along with midfielder Giraldo. The coach demands greater intensity from the Colombian duo, keeping them sidelined for performance and hierarchy reasons.
Mirassol
After the 1–0 loss to Fluminense, Mirassol full-back Reinaldo criticized referee Anderson Daronco, saying he “lost control” of the match. Despite the defeat, he praised the team’s performance and promised a strong reaction in the club’s centennial year.

Flaco López (24, Argentine striker) is Palmeiras’ top scorer in 2025 with 23 goals in 56 games (0.41 per match), surpassing his 2024 tally. Called up by Lionel Scaloni, he will miss the Santos match due to national team duty with Argentina.

Vasco
Vasco is prioritizing the signing of a defensive midfielder for 2026 to strengthen the midfield after injuries and underperformance. Coach Diniz will participate in planning alongside the board, which is also evaluating defensive and attacking reinforcements.
After being a regular starter for most of the season, Hugo Moura lost his place following a red card against Fortaleza. Diniz justified the decision, praising Tchê Tchê and saying Hugo could still regain his spot alongside Barros.
Vasco was dominated by Botafogo and lost 3–0, showing a drop in form and tactical flaws. Diniz’s insistence on certain midfield setups has exposed weaknesses that are hurting the team’s top-seven ambitions.
