On the eve of the América de Cali clash, coach Mingo emphasized Bahia's need to maintain competitiveness and unity, praising the support of the fans and the team’s strong response following the season break.
Willian José experienced ankle pain and will be re-evaluated this afternoon to determine if he can play; América de Cali has already arrived in Salvador and conducted two training sessions in Bahia.
Botafogo
Davide Ancelotti was introduced as Botafogo’s new head coach and promised to bring courage and personality to the team. Fluent in Portuguese, he confirmed readiness to start his journey with a contract through 2026.
Al-Rayyan attempted to pay Gregore’s US$ 8 million release clause in installments, but Botafogo refused and demanded full payment upfront. John Textor did not accept the changed terms and withdrew from signing.
Eagle Football is negotiating the transfer of Danilo, formerly of Palmeiras, to Nottingham Forest, but financial restrictions are blocking a move to Lyon. If that falls through, Botafogo may become an alternative, although the player is hesitant to return to Brazil.
Bragantino
For the upcoming match against São Paulo, Red Bull Bragantino will be missing Isidro Pitta and Thiago Borbas (suspended), as well as Fabrício and Matheus Fernandes, who remain injured.
Bragantino will welcome back right-back Andres Hurtado (after suspension) and goalkeeper Cleiton (recovered from a stomach virus) ahead of the São Paulo game.
Midfielder Myguel of Red Bull Bragantino achieved his first title with Brazil U‑15, winning the Copa 2 de Julho—an accomplishment the team hadn’t attained since 2013.
Ceará
Galeano scored the winning goal in the Clássico-Rei and was praised by coach Léo Condé for his dedication and progress. He has seven goals this season and will start against Corinthians, as Pedro Raul and Pedro Henrique are suspended. Condé expressed confidence in the squad maintaining its strong form.

Former president Andrés Sanchez is being investigated by Corinthians over alleged misuse of the corporate credit card for personal expenses during his 2020 term.
Cruzeiro
Flamengo backed out of the R$ 22 million deal to sell Matheus Gonçalves to Cruzeiro, surprising the player and ending the negotiation.
Vasco rejected Cruzeiro’s offers for Cauan Barros, banking on the increased value of the 21‑year‑old midfielder currently on loan at América‑MG.
Cruzeiro plans to retain Walace, Lautaro, and Gamarra in the squad and will only consider selling them if financially advantageous offers arise.
Flamengo
Pedro’s comment acknowledging his poor form—but not apologizing—was not well received at Flamengo, leaving his relationship with Filipe Luís and his future at the club uncertain.
Flamengo rejected a €20 million offer from Roma for Wesley but expects around €25 million to negotiate the deal.
Pedro met with the Flamengo squad to address Filipe Luís’s criticism, admitted his slump but did not apologize, keeping the club atmosphere tense.
Fortaleza
Fortaleza has dismissed coach Vojvoda after five seasons, 310 games, and five titles, ending a remarkable cycle at the club.
Following Vojvoda’s departure, Fortaleza is evaluating Argentine coaches Zubeldía and Ramón Díaz as possible replacements, though no formal proposals have been made yet.
Grêmio
Grêmio has loaned striker Arezo to Peñarol until December 2025, with a purchase option of US$ 3.5 million.

Inter’s reserves beat Sindicato dos Atletas 2–0 in a training match at CT Parque Gigante.
Juventude
Juventude beat Sport 2–0 at home in Série A, with two goals from Gilberto, ending an eight-game winless streak and showing defensive improvement. The victory took them to 11 points and 17th place, just above the relegation zone.
Midfielder Luis Mandaca celebrated his 100th appearance for Juventude, citing his identification with the club and important goals against Grêmio and Flamengo. Despite the difficult position in the table, he emphasized focus on recovery and leadership to turn the situation around.
Mirassol
After 45 days without matches, midfielder Danielzinho sees the break as important for physical recovery and improving training at Mirassol. A regular starter, he stressed the team’s confidence and the need to maintain rhythm for the rest of the season.
Coach Rafael Guanaes confirmed Walter as the starting goalkeeper for Mirassol due to his strong performance and backed the choice with statistical data. Walter leads the Brasileirão in saves per game and will start against Palmeiras.
Santos
Santos has begun negotiations to sign 15‑year‑old forward David Nogueira to his first professional contract; he’s a standout in the U‑17s and the Brazil youth national team.
Vinícius Zanocelo, 24, has been training separately while awaiting offers; Santos has asked €4 million from Estoril, who countered with €2.5 million. Santos owns 60% of his rights and has received loan inquiries from Internacional and Panathinaikos but prefers a permanent transfer.
Santos’s U‑14 team remains unbeaten and advanced to the Copa Kappa semifinals with three wins, seven goals scored and just one conceded; they will face Guarani next.
Sport Recife
Juventude beat Sport 2–0 at Casa Juventude in Brasileirão Série A; highlights include key moments from the match.

After another loss, Rafael Thyere vented frustrations, demanded more attitude from the team, and said only a win can calm a fatigued fan base tired of unfulfilled promises.
Lucas Oliveira rejected a six‑month loan offer from Sport and will remain at Vasco, while the Pernambucan club seeks new options to strengthen its defense.
Vasco
Vasco is negotiating the loan of young defenders Lyncon (centre‑back) and Paulinho (right‑back) to Volta Redonda, as they are unlikely to be used by Fernando Diniz. The clubs are negotiating salary contributions since Voltaço cannot cover costs alone.
Coutinho will miss Vasco’s match against Independiente del Valle due to a calf issue, and new signing Thiago Mendes has yet to debut due to incomplete physical readiness. Garré or Alex Teixeira are expected to fill in, and Estrella may return after a long-term injury.
Lucas Oliveira turned down Sport’s loan offer and decided to stay at Vasco, despite limited playing time. The 29‑year‑old defender hasn’t played since May and is under contract until December 2026.
Vitória
Vitória terminated the loan contract of striker Felipe Cardoso early; he was on loan from Atlético de Alagoinhas, played just 25 minutes in the Copa do Brasil against Moto Club, and will likely be loaned to a Portuguese club soon.
After being eliminated by Ypiranga in the Baiano Sub‑20 quarterfinals, Vitória decided to change the youth team coach. Laelson Lopes, in position since 2023, was dismissed. Rodrigo Chagas—who came up through Vitória’s ranks and won the 2019 Sub‑20 Copa do Nordeste—returned. He also managed the senior team between 2020 and 2021.
Vitória began preparations on Monday (July 14) to face Botafogo in Rio. After a tactical video session at Barradão, starters had physical recovery and others worked on technical drills focusing on transitions, offensive plays, and finishing. The group returns to training Tuesday morning and travels to Rio that afternoon.
