ree

Atlético-MG

  • Atlético-MG and Sport face each other this Wednesday, at 7 p.m., at Arena MRV, in a postponed match from the 14th round of the Brasileirão, with the Galo under pressure due to poor form and Sport stuck at the bottom of the table.

  • Undefeated at home against Sport this century, Atlético-MG seeks a win at Arena MRV to move away from the relegation zone.

  • Atlético-MG U-17 will play for their first-ever Brasileirão title against Grêmio, with the second leg at home after eliminating Flamengo and Athletico-PR away.

Bahia

  • Luciano Juba is being monitored by Napoli, Fiorentina, and Roma; offers between €10–12 million (R$62–75 million) are expected, but the club has already rejected proposals and considers the full-back (under contract until 2027) a key player.

  • On loan from Bahia to Cerezo Osaka, Rafael Ratão is in great form in Japan (18 goals in 38 games) and says he changed his mindset after struggling with depression, parties, and alcohol, maintaining therapy as part of his recovery.

Botafogo

  • Botafogo’s young talents Montoro (Argentina) and Barrera (Colombia) are competing in the U-20 World Cup in Chile and could face each other in the semifinals. Montoro is a starter and a standout for Argentina, while Barrera is fighting for a place in the professional squad.

  • John Textor is evaluating two candidates suggested by Ares to replace Christopher Mallon on Eagle’s board: Stephen Welch, partner at Crownmark, and Justin Le Fort, CFO at Grover. The chosen executive will oversee the finances of the clubs under the holding, including Botafogo.

Bragantino

  • Red Bull Bragantino, currently 9th in the Brasileirão with 36 points, will have Gabriel back, expects the return of Agustin Sant’Anna (RB) and Eduardo Sasha (FW), but remains without Nathan Mendes (suspended) and injured players Eduardo, Isidro Pitta, and Davi Gomes for the match against Palmeiras.

  • Myguel Sousa, Red Bull Bragantino’s U-15 midfielder, champion of the CONMEBOL Liga Evolución and Copa 2 de Julho with Brazil’s national team, played every match of the tournament and returns to the club for the round of 16 of the Paulista U-15.

Ceará

  • Ceará has opened check-in for members for Ceará vs. Botafogo (October 19, 4 p.m., Castelão) via sociovozao.com and the app; tickets go on sale this Tuesday (07). Before that, Vozão visits Sport on October 15 for the 28th round.

Corinthians

  • With a struggling attack, Corinthians is using the FIFA break to reorganize the offensive sector: Vitinho (meniscus injury) is a serious absence, Héctor Hernández remains out, and Gui Negão (18 years old, 5 goals and 2 assists in 14 games) is emerging alongside Yuri Alberto (15 goals) and Memphis Depay (18 goal contributions).

  • Midfielder Breno Bidon, 20, has become the most-used outfield player under Dorival Júnior with 26 appearances, surpassing Talles Magno (24), after securing a central midfield role amid Garro’s injury.

  • Goalkeeper Felipe Longo, 20, who joined Corinthians at age 8, may debut as a starter in the derby against Santos; a 2024 Copinha champion, he has 75 games and 45 wins across youth categories (U-17 and U-20).

Cruzeiro

  • Leading scorer of the Brasileirão with 20 goals this season, Kaio Jorge is having his best year at Cruzeiro, surpassing the stats of forwards called up by Ancelotti to the national team.

  • Cruzeiro prioritizes renewing Matheus Pereira’s contract, which runs until mid-2026; he can sign a pre-contract at the end of this season.

  • Sinisterra felt discomfort in his left thigh against Sport, raising concerns for Cruzeiro; he will be reevaluated during the FIFA break.

Flamengo

  • Flamengo showed defensive fragility against Bahia, but the board does not yet consider center-back a priority for reinforcements in 2026.

  • Bap stated that Flamengo will not leave the Libra alliance despite criticism and legal disputes over TV revenue distribution.

  • José Boto revealed that he convinced Saúl Ñíguez to cancel a flight to Turkey and sealed his signing with Flamengo after a night of negotiations.

Fluminense

  • Lucho Acosta, one of Fluminense’s key players in 2025, was named MLS MVP in 2023, beating Messi and Thiago Almada. The Argentine excelled at FC Cincinnati before joining Fluminense for around US$4 million.

  • Fluminense faces Mirassol with uncertainty between Cano and John Kennedy in attack, while Keno should replace Serna, who is on international duty with Colombia. The match is crucial for Zubeldía’s team, which is chasing a spot in the top six.

Fortaleza

  • Coach Palermo sees progress in Moisés’ recovery and admits he could be used after the FIFA break, but remains cautious: the Fortaleza forward has been out since April after an injury sustained while celebrating a goal against Inter, and needs to regain confidence before returning against Vasco.

Grêmio

  • Braithwaite is following an anti-inflammatory diet at Grêmio to speed up Achilles tendon recovery and return to the pitch in 2026.

  • Grêmio resumed training during the FIFA break with three recovered players, preparing the squad to face São Paulo.

  • Grêmio reached the Brasileirão U-17 final after eliminating Palmeiras on penalties and will face Atlético-MG for the title.

Internacional

  • Internacional resumed training during the FIFA break with the return of midfielder Gustavo Prado, after his participation in the U-20 World Cup with Brazil.

  • Alan Patrick is having his best season at Inter, with 19 goals and 12 assists, matching Arrascaeta’s stats and standing out as both scorer and playmaker.

Juventude

  • Juventude inaugurated a synthetic pitch at the training center and expanded its professional football facilities, adding a building with physiotherapy, nutrition, and a gym. The club also invested in sustainability with rainwater collection and solar energy.

Mirassol

  • Coach Rafael Guanaes downplayed Mirassol’s three-match winless streak, emphasizing good performances and chance creation. He trusts the team’s home unbeaten record and sees the clash with Fluminense as a direct battle for a Libertadores spot.

  • Mirassol will make changes against Fluminense, with returns of Gabriel, Neto Moura, and Chico da Costa, and absences of Lucas Ramon and José Aldo (suspended). The match will take place Wednesday at 9 p.m. at Maião Stadium.

Palmeiras

  • Figueiredo, a 19-year-old midfielder developed at Palmeiras since age 9 and a multi-title winner in youth teams, is recovering from his third knee surgery and is expected to return only in early 2026.

  • Bruno Fuchs, 25-year-old center-back, will be permanently signed by Palmeiras for €3.5 million (R$22 million) after 30 strong performances in 2025, staying for 2026.

  • With eight absences, league leaders Palmeiras (55 pts) will rely on academy players against Juventude: Gilberto (RB), Erick Belé and Coutinho (midfielders), and Luighi (forward, U-20 standout) return after the U-20 World Cup.

Santos

  • Under coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda, Santos has played 6 matches (1W, 4D, 1L), using 24 players — Gabriel Brazão, Luan Peres, Escobar, Igor Vinicius, Zé Rafael, Schmidt, Guilherme, and Lautaro Díaz being the most used; Neymar remains limited by injury.

  • Midfielder Mateus Mendes, 17, signed his first professional contract with Santos until March 2028 after standing out in youth teams and national U-15 call-ups, totaling 40 official matches since U-13.

  • Eight of Santos’ 20 loaned players were in action over the weekend — highlights include Miguelito (América-MG), Patrick (Athletico-PR), Sandry (Athletic), Messias (Goiás), Rodrigo Fernandez (Independiente), and Enzo Monteiro (Auda) as starters, while Morelos came off the bench and scored for Atlético Nacional.

São Paulo

  • São Paulo will have three players on international duty during the FIFA break: Bobadilla (Paraguay), Tapia (Chile), and Ferraresi (Venezuela), who will return to face Grêmio in the 28th round.

  • São Paulo expects Lucas and Oscar to start against Grêmio on October 16; the duo has played together only 11 times in 2025, achieving a 63.63% success rate, and will be key in the fight for a direct Libertadores spot.

  • Businessman and O8 Partners CEO Diego Fernandes aims to take control of São Paulo by creating an acquisition fund; managing over 100 athletes such as Neymar and Vinícius Júnior, he is well connected in sports and culture, known for international events, celebrity networking, and involvement in social causes.

Sport Recife

  • Sport has not beaten Atlético-MG in Belo Horizonte for 25 years: 17 matches without a win (14 losses, 3 draws) since the historic 6–0 victory on November 19, 2000 (5 goals by Leonardo). Today (Oct 8), 7 p.m., at Arena MRV: bottom-placed Leão (16 pts) visits 15th-placed Galo (29 pts).

  • Sport’s council questions the impeachment request against president Yuri Romão and gives the “Leões da Mudança” group 15 days to verify ~1,000 signatures, suggesting dissatisfaction with on-field results as the motive. The process has not yet been accepted; the opposition claims it will provide the documents.

  • In good form, Derik Lacerda (4th goal in the league) celebrates the 1–1 draw with Cruzeiro and looks ahead to Atlético-MG: “we’re going for the three points” away from home.

Vasco

  • Since Fernando Diniz’s arrival, Vasco has had the best attack in the Brasileirão with 35 goals scored, but also one of the weakest defenses, conceding 30 — the fourth-worst. The team seeks balance to climb the table and stay clear of the relegation zone.

  • Vasco is using the FIFA break to rest players, recover Cuesta, and fix defensive issues. Diniz is also evaluating attacking changes, as Vegetti struggles with form; new tests are expected before facing Fortaleza.

  • Vasco’s U-15 and U-17 teams face Madureira this Wednesday in the 2nd round of the Copa Rio, at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., respectively, at Aniceto Moscoso Stadium. Matches will not be broadcast.

  • Vitória’s youth defender Geovane wins the CONMEBOL Liga Evolución U-15 title with Brazil: 2–2 vs. Argentina in regular time, 5–4 on penalties.

  • Vitória will have Ramon (LB) and Renzo López back for the Ba-Vi derby on October 16 at Barradão after suspensions. The team returns to training on Wednesday (Oct 8); currently 17th with 25 pts, three behind Santos (16th).
